Seventeenth Sunday after Pentecost
       Transition Update from your Vestry
Big news: we have an interim!

We hope to see you in church this Sunday October 1 to hear more about the interim clergy leader who has accepted our call. Together, we will walk through St. John’s season of transition as we work toward calling our next rector.

If you’re not able to be in church for the announcement, watch your mail – regular and electronic – where we’ll share more details in the next few days.

A recap of the steps leading up to
Sunday’s announcement:

An interim selection committee comprised of three vestry members was charged with evaluating a candidate submitted by the Diocese.

Theirs was a thorough process, involving preparing for and conducting a far-reaching interview, checking references and providing in-depth written and oral reports to the vestry.

Acting on their recommendation, the vestry approved extending a call to the candidate.

With input from the Diocese, the Executive Committee (comprised of the Wardens and Treasurer) negotiated a letter of agreement with the candidate. The candidate has accepted our call, and will begin serving at St. John’s on October 9, celebrating and preaching for the first time on October 15.
